ART AND EXPERIENCE:

ASSORTED EXPERIMENTS IN AMERICAN AESTHETICS

Thursday, April 3rd

intimate artifacts” art exhibit opening reception 5-7 pm

Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women Art Gallery - Tucker Hall - Southwest Entrance – Main Campus

Our first experiment is an art exhibit curated by Madeline Muntersbjorn, associate professor of philosophy, and Jeanne Marie Kusina, UT alumnus & doctoral candidate at BGSU. intimate artifacts will feature mixed media works including mail art, journals and altered books, scrapbooks and artist trading cards, found objects and family photos contributed by artists from across the country and around the world. Since the goal of exhibits of this kind is the creation of a community of people, rather than a collection of precious objects, none of the art will be for sale. All of the bits and pieces gathered together will be displayed in 3-ring binders, bookshelves and bulletin boards. Much of the art will be donated to UT libraries after the exhibit ends on May 2nd. Visitors to the opening will be able to participate by responding to the art in the guest book. For more information, visit the exhibit website: www.intimateartifacts.blogspot.com
