John Eidemiller works in the Department of Communication's television production facility, located on the east side of Rocket Hall. He shares duties as a producer with Tom Osswald, the department's other staff Media Producer, and Don Reiber, the director of the department's television facility. Together, John, Don and Tom oversee production of the television programs produced in the television studio for the University and for various internal and external clients. As necessary, John serves as a writer, videographer, director, and editor for a wide variety of projects. Additional duties include helping to design, install, and maintain the production equipment in the television studio, control room and edit bays, as well as in the department's 4-camera mobile production truck. For remote productions, John shares duties as EIC, (Engineer-In-Charge) supervising student employees and trainees in the setup and operation of equipment inside and outside the truck, and for some productions he also serves as director.

John is also a part-time instructor for the Department of Communication. He has taught Communication 2220 (Basic TV Studio Operation) multiple times, including Fall 2002, Spring 2004, Fall 2004, Spring 2005, and Fall 2005 semesters.

Prior to joining the Communication Department staff in July of 2002, John worked for two years as a Producer, Technical Director, and Engineer for Creative Video of Washington, located in Arlington, Virginia just across the Potomac from Downtown Washington D.C. At Creative Video, John worked with a number of Corporate, Government, and Trade Association clients, producing and/or directing shows in many prominent venues in both Washington D.C. and around the country.

As well as a current employee of the UT Department of Communication, John is a graduate of UT's Communication program, earning his Bachelor's Degree from UT, and graduating Magna Cum Laude.
