Prior
to accepting his current position with UT, John worked at Creative
Video of Washington, a video production company that serves
a clientele of trade associations, government agencies, businesses,
and non-profit organizations in the metropolitan Washington D.C.
area. Creative Video provides a full range of production services,
from location shooting, to post-production, to live production and
convention support. At CVW, John had duties as a videographer and
Media 100 editor for smaller projects, and for large conventions,
he created production graphics and served as production coordinator
during the pre-production stages, handling duties as engineer, director,
and technical director on site during the show.
He was
responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling freelance crews
for all of the jobs contracted through Creative Video, as well as
overseeing scheduling for the use and rental of the companys
extensive amount of production equipment. Additionally, John built
and serviced the companys four different multi-camera switcher
fly-packs and maintained its full range of ENG production gear,
P.A. sound systems, and projection equipment. As well as producing
conventions and shows in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, San
Antonio, Orlando, Miami, and Nashville, John worked in such D.C.
venues as The Kennedy Center, The MCI Center, The Warner Theater,
the Washington Monument, and the National Building Museum.
