Laura Williams is an award-winning Lecturer at The University of Toledo, College of Business Administration. She holds an Associates Degree in Marketing and Sales, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Business, and received an Executive MBA from the University of Toledo in 1998. Laura starting teaching at The University of Toledo in the fall of 1999 and is a Professionally Qualified faculty member of the AACSB Accredited College of Business Administration's Department of Management.
Prior to joining The University of Toledo as a full-time Lecturer, Laura pursued a successful career in marketing and sales management that started in 1987. She came up through the ranks to hold positions such as Sales Trainer, Sales Supervisor, and Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Laura also is an experienced consultant and entrepreneur, starting companies ranging from computer sales and repair to consulting services.
Laura has been the recipient of The University of Toledo Outstanding Teaching Award, The College of Business Administration Visiting Instructor Award, the C.A. Thompson Service to Students Award of Excellence, Pan-Hellenic People Who Inspire Us Award and Faculty Recognition, The Outstanding Teacher Appreciation Award from Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Independent Collegian Best UT Professor, Who’s Who in Business Higher Education, Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, and International Who’s Who of Professionals.
Currently, Laura teaches BUAD 1010 (Introduction to Business) and BUAD 3030 (Managerial and Behavioral Processes in Organizations) which are foundational courses. These classes provide students with solid business principles, while demonstrating the value in the application of this knowledge. She designs and conducts the classes as a training ground for life in the business world. Laura has also taught the BUAD 2030 Leadership course, which she designed to build college students into solid business leaders.
In addition to teaching, Laura serves as a leader within The University of Toledo and the College of Business Administration as a past member of the Academic Leadership Steering Committee and Student Scholarships Committee. She currently serves on the Undergraduate Recruiting Committee, Distance Learning Committee, Honors Committee, the University Service Learning Committee, as well as the Selection Committee for the Outstanding Visiting Instructor Award, and the prestigious University of Toledo Outstanding Teaching Award. She is the Faculty Advisor to the UT Alumni Association Business Affiliate, created and manages the campus wide student event UT Rocks Your World, serves as a campus community mentor, and has dedicated countless hours as a volunteer for a variety of student organizations and campus activities.

Purri (pronounced Pour-ee) Gould had no idea where his business concept would
lead. His first professor at the University of Toledo was Laura Williams. From
his first semester at UT, Purri worked tirelessly at bringing to life his
business idea. Now a graduate of The University of Toledo, College of Business
Administration, Purri is one of the founders and serves as the Vice President/COO of
Crikey's Original Australian Pies which can be found in your grocer's
freezer. Laura continues to work closely with Crikey's to expand their business
in new and exciting areas.
