Rome, Italy

Sunday and Mother's Day. Went to an English mass here in Rome, right outside of the Vatican City. It was a super pretty church and the mass was really nice. Although the songs were really slow - much like the cathedral in Toledo. OH! Funny story. UT's Catholic Student Association was at mass. Super weird seeing other people from the university.

After mass we headed over to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican to see the Pope. An incredibly cool experience - practically a once in a lifetime opportunity. After that, we went back to the hotel to get ready for a walking tour. The tour was supposed to last 2 hours and ended up lasting 4. We saw a ton of things, but my feet HURT.

On the tour, we walked through the city and saw the president's place, congress place, a bunch of Roman ruins, and the Colosseum. The Colosseum was gigantic. No matter how many pictures you were to see of it, nothing would even come close to how great it actually was. Truly an outstanding experience.

One more day here.
