Most young girls begin their dance training with ballet at a very young age. However, that was not the case for me, and I started to pursue
this style around the age of 12. Ballet is the basis of every other style, and although it has not been my favorite form of dance, I have learned
to realize over the years how important is it. Every other style of dancing incorporates ballet technique into it in some way, even if the
technical portion is very simple. I ended my ballet training a couple years ago, around the time I graduated high school. Although it is a
style I do not pursue anymore and was not my favorite form of dance, I like to think back and remember all of the benefits it gave to me
in order to be functional in the rest of the dance styles I enjoy. Without ballet, I do not think I would technically be where I am at today
with my abilities. I am grateful that I was able to train in this style for 6 years with instructors that willingly dedicated their time to help
me grow as a dancer.
