After graduation and deciding to attend UT, I wanted to try out forthe dance team. However, pom is a required style for
the team, and I had no experience with it. Instead of putting myself down, I decided to practice all summer and learn
how the style operates so once tryouts came around, I would have some knowledge of pom. Fortunately, I was able to
pick this style up pretty easily since its very similar to jazz and during tryouts, I knew what I was doing. If it is not already
obvious enough from the photos surrounding this text, I made the team and it has been one of the best decisions I have
ever made. Not only do I get to continue dancing through college, but I get to continue learning about the style of pom
as years pass. This year, I have already noticed a great improvement from last year. My pom technique has gotten stronger
and I have perfected the basics of pom motions. I can not wait to see how else I will improve in the following years.
