ARTIST STATEMENT
My interest in color and contrast has been reflected in my work through various mediums. I find inspiration for this in abstract mid-century artists, such as Clyfford Still and Andy Warhol. I enjoy creating designs and figuring out how colors can work together to display a subject or express an emotion. My preference in medium tends to be digitally based, but I still use drawings to create the foundations of many of my digital media pieces. Whether it’s using the simple placement of type in a poster or photographing the details of mundane household objects I strive to create vibrant pieces that are eye catching. The work I have created so far represents my attention to color, as well as my inclination for making my work bold. As an artist, I want to create work that is abstract through contrasting elements and continue to create digital media work that represents personal interests of mine and my strengths in color.
