"immortality"

Immortality is playing on the symbolism of Jellyfish. Jellyfish are seen as a symbolism of immortality and it all comes from the mythology and literature titled "The Epic of Gilgamesh", which is a story about a jellyfish who was the size of a human pinky nail that was discovered off the coat of Italy in the 1880's. A marine biology student about a 100 years later came across a study that the jellyfish itself wouldn't die.

I was spending the summer in Savannah Georgia where I was stung by a jellyfish. For the rest of that trip, everywhere I went, even after I got home, I kept seeing jellyfish everywhere, whether that be in advertisements, art, you name it. I became paranoid, looked up what the symbolism could mean and discovered the story about the immortal jellyfish. Though it didn't solve my anxiety about it, it did open my eyes and allow me to discover a fun little story about jellyfish which have now became my favorite sea life creature.
